The UNESCO International Bureau of Education (UNESCO-IBE) is a specialized institute focusing on curriculum and learning. They provide technical assistance and resources to UNESCO member states.

Job Description

This position is within the Monitoring of Programmes and Partnerships Unit for a project on promoting life skills development through sports and physical education. You will be responsible for the project's monitoring and evaluation (M&E).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks for the project.
  • Collaborate with other units to ensure activities align with project goals.
  • Design and oversee the M&E plan, including data collection and analysis.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on project findings and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance and training on Results-Based Management (RBM) to project partners.
  • Document project activities, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and develop best practice guides.
  • Build relationships with project stakeholders (donors, governments, communities).
  • Facilitate stakeholder participation in project planning and implementation.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Education, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in M&E, RBM, or related fields, with at least 1 year at the international level (preferred).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English or French, with good working knowledge of the other language.
  • Strong IT skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power BI, etc.).
  • Excellent knowledge and experience in designing and implementing M&E systems and RBM frameworks.
  • Excellent coordination and organizational skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of partners.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a multicultural environment.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working with UN partners on education reform projects.
  • Knowledge of UNESCO's education conventions, global priorities, and UN administrative procedures.
  • Knowledge of another official UNESCO language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Spanish).
