DAAD Helmut-Schmidt-Programme (Public Policy and Good Governance) Scholarship
Program Overview:
Assists future leaders from developing countries in promoting democracy and social justice
Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office
Provides Master's degree scholarships in social, political, and economic development-related fields
Eligibility Criteria:
Graduates from developing and emerging countries with a Bachelor's or equivalent degree
Above-average grades (upper third) in Social and Political Sciences, Law, Economics, Public Policy, and Administration
Willingness to contribute to home country/region's development
Practical experience (professional, internships, political/social commitment)
Benefits:
Monthly scholarship of € 934
Health insurance in Germany
Travel allowances
Study and research grant
Rent subsidies and family supplements (as applicable)
Preceding German language course (mandatory)
Selection Criteria:
Academic, professional, and personal motivation
Practical experience relevant to the program
Above-average grades (upper third)
Well-argued case for funding (for candidates with a Master's degree)
Formal Requirements:
Last university degree not older than six years (date of issue not before January 1, 2018)
Candidates who have spent more than 15 months in a non-DAC-listed country are not eligible
