Artificial intelligence is changing how the world works. From healthcare and education to agriculture, finance, and manufacturing, AI is opening new possibilities for solving problems, improving productivity, and creating economic opportunities.
But for Nigeria, the real question is not simply how quickly we adopt AI. It is how effectively we use it to address our most pressing challenges.
This question inspired Techie Impact Summit 3.0: AI FOR GOOD, SHAPING AFRICA, convened by Bankable Wisdom on October 10, 2026, at CcHUB, Lagos.
Presented by its organisers as Nigeria's first summit explicitly titled AI FOR GOOD, the gathering brought together technology professionals, entrepreneurs, innovators, and emerging builders around a shared belief: AI should be measured not only by what it can do, but by the difference it makes in people's lives.
At Bankable Wisdom, we believe technology creates its greatest value when it solves real problems.
Nigeria has no shortage of talented young people, ambitious entrepreneurs, or ideas for improving society. Yet turning promising ideas into sustainable solutions requires more than technical knowledge. It demands collaboration, practical skills, access to funding, and an ecosystem that encourages responsible innovation.
That is why the summit focused on moving beyond conversations about AI towards the practical work of building with it.
Discussions explored AI product development, business innovation, content creation, fundraising, and the role of women in shaping the future of artificial intelligence.
Across these conversations, one message stood out: adopting AI tools is only the beginning. The greater opportunity lies in building solutions that respond to the needs of our communities and create lasting value.
For us, AI for Good is not an abstract concept. It is an opportunity to rethink how we approach national development.
In healthcare, AI could support earlier disease detection, strengthen clinical decision-making, and help healthcare providers deliver more effective services.
In education, AI-powered tools could expand access to learning, support teachers, and equip young people with skills relevant to a changing economy.
In agriculture, AI could help farmers access useful insights, improve resource planning, and make more informed decisions.
In business and manufacturing, AI could help organisations improve productivity, reduce inefficiencies, and develop products and services that compete in wider markets.
For young people, AI presents opportunities to build businesses, develop new skills, access digital work, and participate in the global innovation economy.
These possibilities are not automatic outcomes. They require investment, responsible implementation, appropriate infrastructure, and solutions designed around the realities of the people expected to use them.
Nigeria must therefore move beyond being a consumer of AI products developed elsewhere. We must create an environment where local innovators can build solutions for local challenges and compete globally.
Organising an event around a meaningful vision comes with challenges.
Bringing the right people together, coordinating different moving parts, making difficult decisions, and maintaining momentum requires commitment and sacrifice. The work behind the scenes is often less visible than the event itself.
For Bankable Wisdom, however, the focus remained on impact.
We wanted to create a space where people could exchange ideas, learn from experienced professionals, explore opportunities, and think more deeply about what AI could make possible for Africa.
The goal was not simply to organise another technology event. It was to contribute to a conversation that connects innovation with the real needs of society.
We believe that creating these spaces matters because meaningful progress rarely happens in isolation. It grows when people with different experiences and capabilities come together to share knowledge, challenge assumptions, and explore solutions.
Techie Impact Summit 3.0 featured contributions from professionals working across technology, finance, business, and innovation.
Terhile Ikyo, Senior Project Manager at FCMB Nigeria, challenged participants to think about how Nigeria could create and retain more value from emerging technologies rather than simply consume what others build.
Muheez Okunade of Interswitch Group shared practical perspectives on building AI products and leveraging AI to develop startups.
Jennifer Chukwuma, Co-Founder of GENZ Agency and Socialitik, explored how AI is changing content creation and the way creative professionals work.
The programme also featured a Women in AI panel with Oluwatoyin Arowolo, Adaora Momah, and moderator Mary Abiodun. Their discussions highlighted the importance of inclusive participation and intentional decisions when building AI products and shaping the technology's future.
These conversations reinforced the need to connect technical possibilities with business realities, responsible design, and the experiences of people who will ultimately use the solutions.
A successful innovation ecosystem needs more than inspiration. It needs pathways for people to turn ideas into working products and sustainable businesses.
That means helping emerging innovators understand how to identify meaningful problems, develop practical solutions, validate their ideas, and navigate the funding and partnerships required to grow.
It also means encouraging collaboration between technology builders, businesses, investors, educators, policymakers, and communities.
For AI to contribute meaningfully to Nigeria's development, the people building these solutions must understand the environments in which they will operate. A product that works in one market may require significant adaptation to serve another.
Local context matters. Accessibility matters. Trust matters. And responsible development must remain central to the process.
At Bankable Wisdom, we want the conversations started at the summit to contribute to this wider movement from awareness to practical action.
Bankable Wisdom exists to expand opportunities through technology, skills development, and innovation.
Our work is driven by the belief that talent is widely distributed, but access to opportunities is not. We want more Africans, particularly young people, to gain the knowledge, resources, and connections needed to participate meaningfully in the digital economy.
Our commitment to AI for Good grows from that same belief.
We see AI as an important tool for expanding opportunity, but its value depends on how people use it, who benefits from it, and whether it helps address problems that matter.
That is why we care about what happens beyond the stage, beyond the applause, and long after an event ends.
We care about the ideas that become useful products, the connections that develop into partnerships, and the innovations that improve people's lives.
The summit is one part of that commitment, not the end of it.
Nigeria has an opportunity to shape its AI future with purpose.
We can invest in local talent, encourage responsible innovation, support entrepreneurs, and create stronger connections between technology and national development. We can also ensure that conversations about AI include the people and communities whose lives these technologies are meant to improve.
Achieving this will require sustained collaboration and action from across society.
At Bankable Wisdom, we intend to keep creating opportunities for learning, connection, and innovation that help move this work forward.
Because the future of AI in Nigeria should not be defined only by the technologies we adopt. It should also be defined by the problems we solve, the opportunities we create, and the lives we improve.
AI FOR GOOD is more than a theme. It is a responsibility to build technology that serves people and contributes to a better future for Nigeria and Africa.
And that is the work we remain committed to doing.
