Description

The Investment Analyst will be an important member of Sarona’s investment team. The investment team is responsible for the sourcing, diligence and monitoring impact investment opportunities, including private equity, venture capital and private debt funds, direct co-investment opportunities, secondary LP stakes in funds and direct loans to financial institutions, across global emerging markets.

Accountabilities and responsibilities

• Source and analyse new investment opportunities
• Prepare investment proposals for primary funds, secondary LP stakes in funds, and direct co-investments. This includes the evaluation and building of financial models
• Participate in onsite due diligence
• Participate in the internal investment decision process
• Monitor existing investments: This includes regular analysis and reporting on the developments, leading investment situations that require a broader internal discussion or decisions
• Write regular commentaries on investments for investor reports; and
• Support other activities as needed

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of relevant work experience, preferably at an institutional asset manager (e.g., manager selection, private equity, or M&A / corporate finance).
• Passionate about private market investments (equity and debt)
• Passionate about positive social and environmental impact through investments
• Investing experience in emerging markets and willingness and ability to travel to emerging markets
• Entrepreneurial and professional team player
• Curious and “Get things done” mentality
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Lived experience from emerging markets seen as an asset
• Clear affinity with Sarona’s strategy, culture and values
