Job Title: Talent Acquisition Specialist (Tech) at Moniepoint (Remote)

Most people think of talent acquisition as the department that sends rejection emails. The people inside it know the truth: a great technical recruiter is one of the most strategically important people in a scaling technology company. They are the reason the best engineers walk through the door instead of joining a competitor. And at Moniepoint, where the engineering and product teams are building infrastructure that processes $250 billion in transactions annually, getting hiring right is not a nice-to-have. It is an operational priority.

Moniepoint posted the Talent Acquisition Specialist Tech role in August 2026, fully remote, open to candidates across Nigeria. This is a live, verified listing — not a recycled posting from a closed round.

What the Role Involves

As a Technical Talent Acquisition Specialist at Moniepoint, you are the person who fills the hardest roles in the company: software engineers, data scientists, product managers, security specialists, DevOps engineers, and other technical professionals whose skills are in short supply and high demand. Your work starts before a role is even posted — understanding what each hiring manager actually needs, building the search strategy to find it, and then executing that strategy with the speed and rigour that a company processing $250 billion in transactions requires.

Day to day, you will manage the full recruitment lifecycle for technical positions from requisition to offer. You will write compelling job descriptions that attract the right candidates and discourage the wrong ones. You will source proactively — on LinkedIn, GitHub, technical communities, and referral networks — rather than simply waiting for applications to arrive. You will conduct structured first-round interviews that assess both technical depth and cultural alignment. You will coordinate technical assessments and panel interviews with engineering and product leaders. You will manage candidates through the process with the responsiveness and transparency that protects Moniepoint's employer brand. And you will use data — time-to-hire, offer acceptance rate, source quality — to continuously improve how the function operates.

What Moniepoint Is Looking For

Prior experience in a talent acquisition, recruiting, or HR role — ideally with exposure to technical hiring in a startup, fintech, or technology company. A genuine understanding of what makes a strong software engineer, product manager, or data professional — enough to have a credible first conversation with technical candidates and make an informed initial assessment. Strong communication and relationship-building skills: candidates and hiring managers both need to trust you. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where multiple roles are open simultaneously and timelines shift. Familiarity with applicant tracking systems and LinkedIn Recruiter or equivalent sourcing tools.

You do not need to be an engineer. You need to understand engineers well enough to recognise what excellent looks like and to articulate it clearly to both candidates and hiring managers.

Why This Role Matters for Your Career

Technical recruiting at a company the size and profile of Moniepoint is a genuine career accelerator. The volume of hiring, the calibre of roles, and the speed of the environment will develop your skills faster than almost any other HR or people function at a comparable stage. Within two to three years in a role like this, you will have a track record that opens doors at companies across Africa and globally.

HR and people functions in tech are also increasingly dollar-adjacent: many senior HR professionals at African tech companies earn compensation packages that reflect the strategic importance of the function in a continent where engineering talent is scarce and competition for it is intense.

How to Apply

Apply directly through Moniepoint's careers portal. The role is fully remote and open to candidates across Nigeria. Given that Moniepoint reviews applications on a rolling basis, applying early in the cycle gives you a meaningful advantage.

Bankable Wisdom Tip: Before your interview for a talent acquisition role, research Moniepoint's current open positions. Know which teams are hiring and what skills they are looking for. Come to the interview with a clear point of view on how you would approach sourcing for one of their hardest-to-fill technical roles. That preparation shows the hiring team that you already think like a recruiter — and that you do your homework before every conversation you enter.
