Announcing the 2024 MTN Foundation Scholarship Scheme

MTN Foundation is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2024 MTN Scholarships Program. Established in 2010, this annual award recognizes and rewards high-performing students in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. The scholarship program is divided into three categories:

1. MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (MTN STS)

• Eligibility: Open to eligible 300 level students studying Science & Technology-related courses in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
• Award Details: 300 students will be awarded scholarships until graduation upon meeting grade requirements. The annual award amount has increased to ₦300,000 starting in 2024.

2. MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (MTN SBS)

• Eligibility: Open to eligible 200 and 300 level blind students studying any course in Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions (Universities, Polytechnics, and Colleges of Education).
• Award Details: The number of scholarships for blind students has increased to 100. The annual award amount is ₦300,000 and will be awarded until graduation if grade requirements are met.

3. Top 10 UTME Scholarship

• Eligibility: Awarded to the top 10 scoring candidates of the UTME as announced by JAMB, irrespective of their preferred course of study or Tertiary Institution (Public or Private) in Nigeria.
• Award Details: Scholarships are awarded from 100 level through to graduation upon meeting grade requirements. The annual award amount is ₦300,000 starting in 2024.

Eligibility Requirements

MTN Science and Technology Scholarship (STS)

• Level of Study: Open to students who have completed their second semester 200 level examinations and are advancing to 300 level, as well as current 300 level students.
• CGPA Requirement:
  • Public Universities and Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 3.0/4 or 3.5/5 (Second Class Upper Credit).
  • Public Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND program and must have secured admission into HND program.
  • Direct Entry: Minimum CGPA of 3.0 (Upper Credit) from OND program and must have secured admission into 300 level in a Public University.

MTN Scholarship for Blind Students (SBS)

• Level of Study: Open to 200 and 300 level blind students in any Nigerian Public Tertiary Institutions. For blind students studying Law, only 300 level students can apply.
• CGPA Requirement:
  • Universities or Colleges of Education: Minimum CGPA of 2.5.
  • Public Polytechnics: Minimum CGPA of 2.0 from OND program and must have secured admission into HND program.
